가시오갈피나무는 두릅나무과 떨기나무로 「멸종위기 야생생물 Ⅱ급」 식물이다. 줄기에 바늘 같은 가시가 많다. 우리나라 중부 이북의 일부 지역에 자생한다. 약용을 목적으로 한 무분별한 채취로 개체 수가 급격히 줄었으며 효율적인 보전 대책이 필요하다. 현재 한국적색목록에 멸종위기범주인 취약종(VU)으로 평가되어 있다. [저작재산권자]

  • 낙엽성 떨기나무로 내한성과 내음성이 강해 깊은 산지 습윤한 나무 그늘 아래 배수가 양호한 곳, 특히 계곡 주변부에서 생육한다. 6~7월경에 개화하여 9~10월경에 열매가 익는다. [1]
