월동을 위해 갈매나무에서 교미해 월동란을 낳고 여름에는 이차기주인 콩과 식물로 이동하는 기주이동성의 완전생활환 진딧물이다. 몸통은 연한 녹색 또는 노란색을 띠며 둥근 달걀형이다. 더듬이는 회색빛으로 끝이 검다. [저작재산권자]

광식성 완전생활환을 갖는다. 4월 중순부터 콩의 어린잎에 나타나며 10월경에 일차기주인 갈매나무나 좀갈매나무로 이주하여 알로 월동한다. 주로 콩의 어린잎 뒷면을 흡즙하며, 피해를 받은 잎은 쭈글쭈글해진다. 미국, 캐나다 등으로 퍼져서 북미 콩 주요 재배지의 심각한 해충이 되었다. 큰 집단을 이루는 경우가 많다. 발생시기: 4-10월 서식부위: 잎 뒷면, 신초, 잎자루, 꽃자루 기주식물: 콩, 돌콩, 팥, 갈매나무, 좀갈매나무 [2]
