Rosa marretii H. Lév.
산지 숲속이나 골짜기 물가에서 높이 1~1.5m가량 자라는 낙엽 활엽 떨기나무이다. 줄기는 모여나며 적갈색으로 털이 없고 가지가 많이 갈라진다. 줄기의 가시는 똑바르게 나는데 종종 마주나기도 한다. 잎은 5~9개의 작은잎으로 된 깃꼴겹잎이며 어긋나게 달린다. 작은잎은 타원 모양 또는 긴 타원 모양이다. 잎의 양 끝은 뾰족하며 가장자리에 예리한 톱니가 있고 잎자루 밑부분에 턱잎이 변한 한 쌍의 가시가 있다. 작은잎 길이는 2~3cm 정도이다. 5~6월경에 연한 붉은색 꽃이 피는데 새 가지 끝에 1~3개씩 달리며 꽃대에 샘털이 있다. 열매는 구형으로 9~10월에 붉게 익는다. 우리나라 정선, 홍천, 영월 등 강원도 이북에 나며, 일본 혼슈 이북, 중국 동부~동북부, 몽골, 러시아 아무르, 우수리, 시베리아 등지에 분포한다. 이 종은 인가목에 비해 잎자루에 가시가 있고 작은잎 뒤에 샘점이 있으며 열매가 둥글어 구별된다. 관상용으로 심으며, 꽃은 향수의 원료로 이용한다.
