Ligusticum acutilobum Siebold & Zucc.

일본 원산이며 밭에 약초로 재배하는 여러해살이다. 전남 지역에서는 야생으로 퍼져 나가 습기가 많은 토양에서 저절로 자란다. 줄기는 높이 60~90cm이고 곧게 자란다. 원줄기와 잎자루는 검은빛이 도는 자주색이고, 전체에 털이 없다. 뿌리잎과 아래쪽의 잎은 삼각형이고 길이 10~25cm이며, 3개씩 1~3회 깃꼴로 갈라진다. 작은잎은 길이 5~10cm이고 가장자리에 예리한 톱니가 있으며 깊게 3갈래로 갈라진다. 잎 앞면은 녹색으로 윤기가 난다. 잎자루는 길며 털이 없고 밑부분이 긴 잎집으로 된다. 꽃은 8~9월에 원줄기 끝과 가지 끝의 겹산형꽃차례에 달리고 흰색이다. 모인산형꽃차례의 윗부분과 작은산형꽃차례 및 작은꽃자루의 안쪽에 잔돌기가 있다. 작은산형꽃차례는 길이 3~8cm이며 30~40개이고, 작은꽃자루는 길이 7~18mm이며 작은모인꽃싸개잎은 실처럼 가늘다. 열매는 편평한 긴 타원형으로 길이 4~5mm이며, 뒷면의 능선이 가늘고 가장자리에 좁은 날개가 있다. 우리나라 각지에서 재배하지만 남부지방에서는 야생화하여 자생한다. 일본에 분포한다. 줄기와 잎은 식용하며, 뿌리는 약용한다.
