Endarachne binghamiae (미역쇠)
동해안, 남해안, 제주도 해안의 조간대 중부 및 하부에 생육하는 갈조류이다. 체장은 25cm이며 폭은 2~3cm에 달하는 넓은 대나무 잎 모양이며, 초겨울에 나타나기 시작하여 다음해 6월까지 번무한다. 자낭군은 처음에 엽상체에 반점으로 나타나고 후에는 전면에 퍼진다. 어릴 때는 황갈색이나 노성하면 암갈색으로 된다. 식용으로 이용된다. 세계적으로 일본, 중국, 미국의 태평양 연안에서 남아프리카 및 대서양의 카나리섬까지 전 세계 온대 해역에 널리 분포한다. [저작재산권자]
