짱뚱어 bookmark_add Boleophthalmus pectinirostris (Linnaeus, 1758)

농어목 망둑어과에 속하는 어류이다. 크기는 10~15cm이다. 몸은 가늘고 길며 뒤로 갈수록 점차 옆으로 납작해진다. 머리와 몸의 앞쪽은 원뿔 모양의 작은 돌기로 덮여 있다. 머리는 크고 위아래로 납작하며 머리의 너비가 몸의 너비에 비해 넓다. 눈은 작고 머리꼭대기 옆에 있으며 눈 사이는 좁다. 주둥이는 짧고 끝은 둥글다. 입은 아래쪽에 비스듬하게 열리고 윗입술은 두껍다. 체색은 푸른색이고 배 쪽은 연한 색이며 측면에는 흰색의 작은 점이 흩어져 있다. 제2등지느러미에 타원형의 크고 흰 점이 가로로 6줄 있다. 꼬리지느러미에는 흰색 반점이 세로로 늘어서 있다. 뒷지느러미에는 반점이 없고 몸과 지느러미의 반점은 코발트색이다. 조간대에서 서식하는데, 간조 때에는 뻘을 기어 다니면서 먹이를 찾고, 만조 때에는 굴을 파고 숨어 있다. 공기 호흡에 의하여 육지와 바다를 왕래할 수 있다. 남해와 서해에 서식하며, 세계적으로는 일본·타이완·남중국해·미얀마·말레이제도 등 서부태평양의 열대 해역에 분포한다.   • 물이 빠지면 연안과 기수역의 개펄에서 바닥을 기어 다니며 Y자 형태의 구멍을 파고 서식한다. 주로 규조류를 섭식한다. 산란기는 6~8월이다. [3]
