분류체계
서해안의 중부 이남, 남해안의 거제도에서 서남 해안까지 그리고 제주도 전역에 나타나며, 세계적으로 일본, 중국의 남부, 타이완 및 홍콩까지 분포한다. 엽상체는 매우 딱딱한 원주형이며, 차상으로 분기하고, 조간대의 중부의 바위에 붙어 자란다. 주로 늦가을에 조간대에 나타나서 다음해 초여름까지 생육하며, 체장은 25cm까지 자란다. 포자낭은 봄철에 나타나기 시작하며, 피층 내에서 생긴다. 파도가 다소 많은 곳에서 나타난다. [저작재산권자]
