Aplysia (Aplysia) juliana Quoy & Gaimard, 1832 (말군소)

몸길이는 100~300mm이다. 패각은 퇴화되어 몸속에 얇은 판 모양으로 들어 있다. 물리적 자극이나 위협을 느낄 때 우유빛 분비물을 내뿜는다. 수심 5m 전후의 암반 조하대에서 간혹 발견되는 흔치 않은 종이다. 봄에서 여름에 걸쳐 끈 모양의 난괴를 산란한다. 전 세계 온대 해역에 분포하는 종으로 우리나라에서는 쿠로시오 난류의 영향을 받는 제주도와 독도를 포함해 남해와 동해 일부 연안에 분포한다. [저작재산권자]
