분류체계
엽상체는 연한 녹색~황록색~진한 녹색이고 로제트형으로 자라며 너비는 1~2cm 정도이다. 엽상체는 둥근 모양에 가깝고 다양한 모양의 열편으로 약간 갈라지며 잎맥은 희미하다. 가장자리는 불규칙한 물결 모양으로 오므라지며 요철이 심하다. 암수한그루이다. 암생식기와 수생식기는 엽상체 조직 속에서 생기며 포자체(삭)는 원통형이고 길이는 1~3cm로 긴 편이다. 포자는 검은색이나 자주색을 띠기도 한다. 습지 주변의 물기 있는 흙이나 바위 위 또는 민가 마당의 습한 곳에서 모여 자란다. 우리나라 강원(강릉), 충남(공주, 청양)에 나며, 세계적으로는 북반구에 분포한다.
