등지느러미 중앙에는 검은 반점이 있고 몸에는 등적색 반점이 흩어져 있다. 연안 정착성 어류로 바위 구멍이나 바위틈에 숨어 있다가 주로 밤에 활동한다. 새우류, 게류, 어류 등을 먹고 산다. 산란은 6~8월에 연안의 얕은 바다 바위지역에 한다. [저작재산권자]
