갈치 bookmark_add Trichiurus lepturus Linnaeus, 1758

농어목 갈치과에 속하는 어류이다. 몸은 1m 정도로 매우 길며 납작하고 끝으로 갈수록 뾰족해진다. 입은 크고 각 턱의 끝에는 피부돌기가 있다. 등지느러미는 비교적 높으나 뒷지느러미는 축소되어 피부에 묻혀 있다. 가슴지느러미 가시의 앞 가장자리에는 거치가 없다. 배지느러미와 꼬리지느러미는 없다. 옆줄은 아가미뚜껑의 위에서 시작하여 가슴지느러미의 끝까지 비스듬히 달리다가 배 쪽 윤곽을 따라 직선으로 달린다. 신선할 때는 은색 광택을 띠는 금속성 청색이다. 죽은 후에는 균일한 은회색을 띤다. 일반적으로 얕은 연안의 진흙 바닥에 살며 종종 내만으로 들어온다. 치어는 주로 작은 유영성 갑각류와 작은 어류를 먹으며, 성어는 주로 어류를 먹고 경우에 따라서는 오징어나 갑각류를 먹기도 한다. 서해와 남해에 서식하고, 전 세계의 열대와 온대에 분포한다.   • 일반적으로 얕은 연안의 진흙 바닥에 살며 종종 내만으로 들어온다. 치어는 주로 작은 유영성 갑각류와 작은 어류를 먹으며, 성어는 주로 어류를 먹고 경우에 따라서는 오징어나 갑각류를 먹기도 한다. 성어와 치어는 먹이에 대해서 서로 상반되는 일주기 이동 현상을 나타낸다. 큰 성어는 낮 동안 표면 근처에서 먹이를 먹고 밤에 바닥으로 이동한다. 치어와 작은 성어는 낮 동안 바닥 위 100m 정도에서 집단을 이루고 밤에는 표면 근처에서 느슨한 집단을 형성한다. [2]
