졸복 bookmark_add Takifugu pardalis (Temminck and Schlegel, 1850)

몸길이가 35cm가량인 바닷물고기이다. 몸은 짧고 굵으며 모양은 곤봉형이다. 피부에 가시는 없지만 둥근 돌기물이 있다. 등 쪽은 황갈색 바탕에 다각형의 흑갈색 반점이 흩어져 있고, 배 쪽은 백색이며 그 사이에 황갈색 세로줄이 있다. 연안 얕은 해역의 바위지역에 서식한다. 산란은 2~3월에 한다. 우리나라 전 연안에 출현하며, 일본과 동중국해에 분포한다. 탕으로 끓여 먹는다. 피부, 난소, 간에 강한 테트로도톡신(tetrodotoxin)이라는 맹독이, 정소에는 약한 독이 들어 있다. 흔히 참복의 소형 개체를 졸복(쫄복)이라 하지만 두 종은 전혀 다른 종이다.
