Menispermum dauricum f. pilosum Kitag. (털새모래덩굴)
산기슭 양지바른 곳에서 자라는 덩굴성 여러해살이풀이다. 줄기는 길이 1~3m, 다른 물체를 감는다. 잎은 어긋나며, 홑잎, 둥근 심장 모양, 길이와 폭은 각각 7~13cm, 가장자리는 5~9갈래로 얕게 갈라진다. 잎자루는 길이 5~15cm, 방패 모양으로 붙는다. 잎 앞면은 진한 녹색, 뒷면은 흰빛을 띤다. 꽃은 4~6월에 암수딴포기로 피며, 잎겨드랑이에서 난 원추꽃차례에 달리고, 연한 노란색이다. 수꽃은 꽃받침잎 6장, 꽃잎 4장, 수술 12~24개, 꽃받침잎이 꽃잎보다 크다. 암꽃은 꽃받침잎 4장, 꽃잎 6장이다. 열매는 핵과, 9~10월에 검게 익는다. 우리나라 전역에 나며 러시아 동시베리아, 일본, 중국 동북부 등에 분포한다. 잎몸은 원형으로 가장자리에 3~7개의 얕은 결각이 있는 점에서 밋밋한 함박이와 구별된다. 뿌리를 약용한다. 가막덩굴이라고도 한다.
