참비름
참비름
석죽목 비름과에 속하는 관속식물이다. 마을 근처 길가, 빈터 등에 흔하게 자라는 한해살이풀이다. 줄기는 곧추서며, 가지가 갈라지고, 높이 80~150cm이다. 잎은 어긋나며, 넓은 난형 또는 삼각상 넓은 난형, 길이 4~12cm, 폭 3~7cm, 가장자리가 밋밋하다. 잎자루는 3~10cm이다. 꽃은 8~10월에 암수한포기에 피며, 줄기 끝이나 잎겨드랑이에서 난 이삭꽃차례에 달리고, 연한 녹색이다. 꽃받침잎은 3장, 좁은 난형 또는 피침형, 길이 3mm쯤, 끝이 길게 뾰족하다. 수술은 3개, 암술대는 3개이다. 열매는 포과, 타원형, 9~11월에 익으면 뚜껑처럼 생긴 위쪽이 열린다. 씨는 1개씩 들어 있으며, 검은 갈색, 윤이 난다. 개비름은 줄기가 눕거나 비스듬하게 자라며 밑에서 가지가 갈라지고, 열매는 익어도 저절로 터지지 않으므로 다르다. 어린잎과 줄기를 식용한다. 우리나라 전역에 나며 전 세계에 분포한다.
