푸른비름
열대아메리카 원산의 귀화식물이며 초지, 들판에서 자라는 한해살이풀이다. 줄기는 곧게 자라며, 높이 50~90cm, 가지가 갈라지고 세로줄 무늬가 있으며 털은 없다. 잎은 어긋나며 잎자루는 길이 3~6cm다. 잎몸은 난형 또는 타원형으로 길이 4~8cm, 폭 2.5~3.0cm, 끝은 V자로 움푹 들어가거나 둔하고 밑부분은 넓은 쐐기 모양, 가장자리는 밋밋하다. 잎 양면은 녹색, 털은 없다. 꽃은 7~10월에 녹색으로 피는데 줄기 끝이나 잎겨드랑이에 이삭꽃차례를 이룬다. 꽃싸개잎은 난형 끝은 뾰족하고 화피보다 짧으며 막질이다. 꽃받침은 3개, 피침형, 끝은 꼬리 모양으로 뾰족하다. 열매는 포과, 둥글고 주름이 많으며 갈라지지 않는다. 우리나라 전역 등 온대 지역에 귀화하여 분포한다. 개비름에 비해 잎끝이 V자로 움푹 들어가고, 줄기 끝에서 나온 꽃차례는 가늘고 길며, 열매에 주름이 많으므로 구분된다. 관상용으로 심고, 약용한다. 꼬리비름, 비름, 푸른비름이라고도 한다.
