Stellaria undulata Thunb.

들판이나 경작지 및 길가 주변에 흔하게 자라는 한해살이풀이다. 전체에 털이 없다. 줄기는 높이 13~35cm, 아래쪽에서 가지가 많이 갈라진다. 잎은 마주나며 잎자루가 없고, 피침형 또는 타원상 피침형으로 길이 0.5~2.0cm, 폭 1~4mm다. 꽃은 4~5월에 줄기 끝이나 잎겨드랑이에 1개씩 피거나 3~5개가 취산꽃차례를 이루어 피며, 흰색이다. 꽃자루는 길이 0.5~2.0cm, 가늘고 털이 없다. 꽃받침잎은 5장, 피침형으로 길이 2~4mm다. 꽃잎은 5장, 꽃받침잎보다 조금 짧거나 비슷하며, 깊게 2갈래로 갈라진다. 수술은 5개, 암술대는 2~3개다. 열매는 삭과이며, 5~7월에 익고, 6갈래로 갈라진다. 우리나라 전역에 나며, 일본, 중국 등에 분포한다. 잎은 자루가 없는 점에서 적어도 줄기 밑부분에서 잎자루를 갖는 쇠별꽃 및 별꽃과 구별된다. 또한 꽃잎은 깊게 2갈래로 갈라지는 점에서 가장자리가 술처럼 갈리는 왕별꽃과 구별된다. 어린순을 식용한다. 들별꽃, 벼룩별꽃, 보리뱅이, 애기별꽃이라고도 한다.
