Acer mono Maxim.

산지 숲속에 자라는 낙엽 큰키나무로 높이 10-30m이다. 잎은 마주나며, 홑잎, 손바닥 모양인데 보통 5갈래로 갈라지고, 가장자리는 밋밋하다. 잎 앞면은 진한 녹색으로 매끈하며, 뒷면은 연한 녹색이다. 꽃은 5-6월에 새 가지 끝의 산방꽃차례에 피며, 노란빛이 돈다. 꽃받침잎과 꽃잎은 각각 5장이다. 수액을 음료로 마시거나 농축하여 시럽으로 만들어 먹는다. 목재는 장식용구와 가구재로 쓴다. 전국에 자라며, 중국 중부, 일본, 러시아에 분포한다. [저작재산권자]
