분류체계
높은 산에 자라는 여러해살이풀이다. 줄기는 곧추서며, 밑에서 가지가 갈라지고, 높이 5~20cm다. 잎은 3~6장씩 돌려나며, 잎자루는 위로 갈수록 짧다. 잎몸은 긴 타원형으로 길이 10~40mm, 폭 3~13mm, 5~7쌍의 깃꼴로 깊게 갈라진다. 꽃은 7~8월에 피는데 줄기 끝의 짧은 총상꽃차례에 달리며, 자주색이다. 포잎은 꽃받침보다 길며, 손바닥 모양으로 갈라진다. 꽃받침은 통 모양, 끝이 5갈래로 얕게 갈라지고, 세로줄 무늬가 있다. 꽃부리는 입술 모양, 길이 15mm쯤이다. 윗입술은 투구 모양이고, 아랫입술은 넓으며 3갈래다. 열매는 삭과, 10월에 익는다. 우리나라 북부지방에 나며, 세계적으로 북반구 한대 지역에 분포한다. 한라송이풀에 비해 전체에 털이 적게 나며, 잎은 깃꼴로 더욱 깊게 갈라지고, 꽃받침 통부가 크므로 구분된다. 관상용으로 심는다. 고산송이풀이라고도 한다.
