풀골
풀골
길가와 산지의 응달진 풀밭에 자라는 여러해살이풀이다. 땅속줄기는 짧고 때로는 옆으로 뻗는다. 줄기는 모여나며, 곧게 자라고 높이 30~60cm, 지름 1mm이다. 잎은 폭 1mm, 줄기보다 짧고 편평하며 밑부분은 잎집으로 되어 줄기를 감싼다. 꽃은 6~7월에 핀다. 꽃차례는 줄기 끝에서 취산꽃차례를 이룬다. 포잎은 보통 2개, 드물게 3개, 꽃차례보다 길다. 소포잎은 삼각상 난형, 끝이 뾰족하다. 화피편은 피침형, 길이 3~4mm, 끝은 뾰족하며 연두색, 가장자리는 흰색 막질이다. 수술은 6개, 화피길이의 1/2 정도이다. 열매는 삭과, 난형, 길이 화피편과 비슷하다. 씨는 도란형, 길이 0.5mm 정도이다. 우리나라 전역에 자생하며, 일본, 중국 및 남미, 북미, 유럽 등에 분포한다. 잎은 적어도 줄기 기부에 정상적으로 붙는 점에서 골풀을 비롯하여 비늘잎으로 구성된 종들과 구별된다. 풀골이라고도 부른다.
