(북한명) 내물조개
석패목 석패과의 무척추동물로, 큰 하천과 강에서 흔히 나타나며 모래와 자갈이 섞인 곳에서도 찾아볼 수 있다. 길이는 50-80mm로, 중형종에 속한다. 패각은 전체적으로 흑갈색을 띠며, 두껍고 단단하다. 표면에 작은 돌기들이 분포하는 경우도 있다. 내면은 광택이 도는 은백색이며, 외투흔이 뚜렷하게 관찰된다. 우리나라 경기도 광주시의 팔당호 및 울산광역시의 태화강에 서식하며, 세계적으로는 일본, 중국 및 러시아에서 찾아볼 수 있다. [저작재산권자]
