Phalaena c-nigrum Linnaeus, 1758
날개편길이 40-47mm이다. 앞날개 바탕색은 수컷은 회갈색, 암컷은 회흑색이며 가락지 모양 무늬를 합쳐 전연을 밑변으로 하는 삼각형의 연한 황갈색 무늬가 있다. 한반도 북부, 중부, 남부, 제주에 분포하고 있다. 국외에는 일본, 중국, 인도차이나, 스리랑카, 인도, 파키스탄, 네팔, 아프가니스탄, 극동러시아, 시베리아, 몽골, 카자흐스탄, 우랄, 유럽, 아프리카 북부, 미국 북부에 분포한다. 성충은 5-6월과 8-10월에 나타나며, 연 2-3회 출현하는 것 같다. 유충은 씀바귀 등을 먹는 다식성으로 작물의 해충이다. 개체수는 많으며 유충으로 월동한다. 성충은 5-6월과 8-10월에 나타나며, 연 2-3회 출현하는 것 같다. 유충은 씀바귀 등을 먹는 다식성으로 작물의 해충이다(원색 한국나방도감, 2001). 개체수는 많으며 유충으로 월동한다. [1]
