진노랑상사화는 수선화과 여러해살이풀로 「멸종위기 야생생물 Ⅱ급」 식물이다. 우리나라 고유종으로 여러해살이풀이다. 전라남도와 전라북도의 숲속 계곡 주변 돌밭에 산다. 8월 초 짙은 황색 꽃이 4~7개씩 무리 지어 피며, 잎과 꽃이 동시에 달리지 않는 식물이다. 주로 계곡 주변 탐방로 근처에 살고 있어 인위적인 위협을 받고 있다. 현재 한국적색목록에 멸종위기범주인 위기종(EN)으로 평가되어 있다. [저작재산권자]

여러해살이풀로 습윤한 숲속 자갈이 많은 곳에서 생육한다. 산지 사면의 하부, 계곡 주변의 전석지에 무리 지어 산다. 이른 봄인 2~3월에 개화한다. [1]
